Property management built on care, craft, and community.

Cultivating holistic wellbeing through real estate.

We believe property management is more than rent collection and maintenance tickets. It’s the daily work of caring for the places people call home and supporting the financial wellbeing of the owners who entrust those homes to us.

Plowshares Management was founded as the operations arm of Plowshares Capital, a real estate investment firm focused on workforce multifamily housing in underserved communities. Today we manage Plowshares Capital’s portfolio and provide third-party management services to other owners who share our commitment to thoughtful, hands-on stewardship.

Our work touches three groups, and we hold ourselves accountable to all three:

  • Owners — we protect and grow your investment with transparent reporting, rigorous tenant screening, and proactive maintenance.
  • Residents — we treat your home like ours, respond fast when something breaks, and respect your time.
  • Our community — we believe well-managed housing strengthens neighborhoods, and we invest in the relationships and partnerships that make that possible.

Local expertise. Real relationships. Professional credentials.

We’re not a national franchise running a script. We’re a Louisville-based team with deep roots in the local rental market, professional designations from the most respected institutions in commercial and residential real estate, and direct accountability for every property in our portfolio. When you call Plowshares, you reach the people who know your property.

We use modern property management technology for everything from online rent payment to real-time owner statements. But the technology never replaces the relationships. We communicate on regular monthly rhythms and you can always get a hold of us with your questions.

The people behind Plowshares.

Ben Hedrick, CCIM

Ben has worked in commercial real estate since 2015 and has spent the last decade building one of Louisville’s most thoughtful multifamily operations. He’s led property management for 1,000+ units in the local market, managed value-add renovation projects of every size, and participated as a key principal in over $90M of multifamily acquisitions. As Managing Partner, he sets the strategic direction for both Plowshares Capital and Plowshares Management.

Ben holds the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation — the gold standard for commercial real estate professionals, held by fewer than 6% of practitioners — and is a member of the CCIM Institute. He is also on the board at Refuge International. Before commercial real estate, Ben served as an Executive Pastor in Louisville, where he oversaw a $7M historic renovation that received multiple awards and recognitions.

Aaron White, CPM

Aaron leads operations at Plowshares Management, where he applies more than a decade of real estate experience and a background in social work to ensure both owners and residents are well cared for. His professional path — running operations in property management and leadership roles at St. Joseph’s Children’s Home, Sunrise Children’s Services, and the Orphan Care Alliance — is a direct reflection of the Plowshares mission to cultivate holistic wellbeing through real estate.

Aaron is currently pursuing the Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation through the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) — the premier credential for residential and commercial property managers worldwide. He holds a BA from Howard Payne University and a Master of Divinity from Southern Seminary in Louisville.
